stevec
I've been running OSX86 10.4.5 for probably a few months now. My roommate helped me out, and while I'm tech-savvy, he's considerably better than I am. So I'm a little scared to reinstall or try to upgrade to 10.4.6. It was quite a trick for him to get it running on my Dell Dimension E510. Anyway, I'm thinking about doing the reinstall because I'd kinda like to dual-boot it with Ubuntu (which I'm much more familiar/comfortable with), but I'd like to not have to go through some of the headaches reinstalling OSX that my roommate did. Is there a way I can just back up like, /System/Library/Extensions and then just copy that over after I reinstall to get all my drivers and settings back? Or some other way to basically make things easier the second time around? Or am I SOL and I'm just gonna have to figure out how to get things working from scratch again? Thanks for the help. stevec
Anyone...? Has no one ever had to jump through some hoops to install OS X, then tried to save that so they didn't have to go through it all again when they reinstalled?
