I have a Dell Inspiron 1150

it's specs are;

  • Processor Intel Celeron 2.6 GHz
  • Chipset type Intel 852GMV
  • RAM Installed Size 256.0 MB
  • Hard Drive 30.0 GB
  • Graphics Processor / Vendor Intel Extreme Graphics 2
  • Video Memory Shared video memory (UMA) - 64.0 MB

if you need anymore info, please ask :D

Anyhow, I've been looking around and there seems to be no answer on how to remove the greyscale 600x800 screen that greets me when i attempt to install.

From my research, Ive gathered that i need to change the UMA graphics size from 1mb to 8mb, but according to its specs it already has 64mb.

any ideas?

I've updated to the BIOS to the latest (A07) and still no luck.

I've looked on the HCL 10.4.5 and my laptop is on there, it says to adjust graphics size but won't explain how to do that..

the install DVD im using is "MaC.OsX.10.4.5.Universal.Install.DVD(INTEL_AMD_SSE3_SSE2).iso"

downloaded from our pirating friends in a bay in sweden.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Allex

You need to change the video buffer size in the bios from 1mb to 8mb. this has nothing to do with actual video ram
