Windows works fine, but I can't boot into OS X. And that's where all my music/movies/etc are located.

So I go to Administrative Tools > Disk Management, and I can see my partition ("unknown"). However, when I restart and hit F8, Windows is the only option. How can I boot back into Mac? I basically just want to move all of my media to a new, separate hdd.

I've been browsing topics for a good hour and half now, so if this has already been asked I apologize.

Edit:

boot.ini looks like this:

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

So I tried adding this at the end (but it didn't work):

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\OSX="OSx86"

any ideas? o_o

Get the Chain0 file, PM me if you want me to email it to you, and place it in the C: directory. Edit boot.ini and insert the following line without the quotes:

"C:\chain0 = Mac OS X Tiger"

You've got the quotes wrong there anyway, it should be:

c:\chain0 = "Mac OS X Tiger"

with the quotes exactly as they are.

Alternatively, download the GParted live iso, burn it to a CD, boot and mark the OSX partition as the active partition.

unlike XP, osx plays nice and lets you optionally boot legacy operating systems.

Ok, c:\chain0 = "Mac OS X Tiger" work for mac on second partition, but in 3rd dont!

I did test also in VMWare and it works when I hide one of the first partition to make mac second partition.

Do I need to compile the chain0 to work for other partitions?
