erichpeterson
Hi, this may seem like a small thing, but it is annoying and I'm wondering if it is normal and/or anyone is experiencing the same thing. I installed a Pioneer CD/DVD drive Model: DVR-218LBK. Sometimes when I hit the eject button on the drive, nothing happens. However, if I click the eject button in the upper-right corner of the screen, it will eject and after that the button on the drive will work. kludgedean
I seem to have had this issue with all of my SATA drives, From LITEON's, to my current Pioneer, to a Toshiba Samsung DVDROM, and also a writer. Well, at least it is reassuring to know this problem is not with my drive, in that it seems to be a hackintosh issue... Can someone confirm this? Has anyone tried their drive in a PC and it ejects just fine, and then have an ejection problem with hackintosh? -Erich Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188233-pioneer-dvd-ejection-problem/#findComment-1276866 Share on other sites

Its a pioneer i think and it will work at startup but as soon as i press eject in the top right the drive says it is uncompatible and after that osx refuses to see the drive. I am currently on snow leopard but i had the same problem with my leopard install after i rebuilt it from a kalyway 10.5.2 install to iatkos 10.5.7. Also my drive works fine in vista... Also Macs cant do that. Only if the drive is empty OR drive has an empty cd/dvd (for burning) in, you can use that button on drive. Thats because OS X works other than win. To get an cd/dvd with content out, you must use drag&drop to trash bin OR use that Menue entry. mitch_de
??? You cant get out an mounted CD/DVD by the drive button - doesnt matter which firmware. Only if you have no disk in the drive, the button should work of course and an firmwareupdate may help .
