Sound Fondler
Hi guys, first post here! Maybe someone can help me out...I'm about to order a GA-EP45-UD3LR for use on the lifehacker guide - I'd love to get the UD3P, but for some reason it's been End of Life'd in the UK! This mobo seems like the next best thing...although I'm not overly familiar with the intracacies of the Gigabyte line-up...if anyone can suggest differently I'd be grateful for a 2nd opinion...? I know doom42 has got a guide on this series of boards - but I'm going the LH way purely for simplicity - it looks a bit easier on the outset...! My main question is on firewire - I'm going to be using this bad boy for a mini-studio, and plan to get an Apogee Duet (an external soundcard basically) - it's connected through firewire however - and the UD3LR has no 1394 connections...would a simple PCI firewire card do the trick? Has anyone got any experience with this? Thanks a million. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188232-lifehacker-installwith-a-twist/ Share on other sites
