samiz
I updated osx86 and updated some kexts. Before replacing new kexts, i backed up old kexts and replaced them with new ones. Now when i reboot the sys and start osx, it freezes on apple logo screen. When i type -s it fails to boot either. I have windows 7 on dual boot, and ive tried to edit osx files thru HFSExplorer but fails to mount. Macdrive also doesnt work.. I have old kexts in Extensions folder, and question is how to restore it?? Any ideas? Did you move the old kexts to a new folder? or did you do something like "mv old.kext old.kext.bak" You probally cant write to the files on HFSExplorer because Journaling is enabled on the mac partition. On linux I know I cant R/W to my mac partition unless I first disable journaling using diskutil. You can boot the installation dvd and go into utilites and select Terminal and chroot into your mac Volume to replace the old kexts. ex: chroot /Volumes/NameofyourmacVolume cd /System/Library/Extentions mv old.kext.bac old.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/188221-restore-kext/#findComment-1276652 Share on other sites
