Hi all, i am having a heck of a time finding an answer to my problem. I just installed Vista OSX and Ubuntu according to a couple write ups from the OSX86 site. But now all the computer wants to do is boot up vista and nothing else. Any ideas? Thanks

Ok, got it figured out. Here is how I solved this.

First partitioned my drive with three partitions with ideneb dvd, used disk utility. Reboot

Inserted vista cd, formatted last partition for vista, install, reboot.

Inserted ubuntu cd, formatted second partion for ubuntu, put grub on same partition, install, reboot

Inserted iDeneb dvd, installed on first partition, reboot

Inserted ubuntu cd, boot as try before install, run gparted, remove boot flag from vista, add boot flag to OS X. Reboot.

Came up with Darwin boot loader and showed all three systems to select from. Booted os x, installed chameleon, reboot

Now have all three systems show in chameleon, all is good. :thumbsup_anim:

so would it stand to reason, that if i were to dual boot osx and win7 i could do it the same way, leaving oaut the ubuntu part?

and howdo you "remove the boot flag" from windows?

I would say yes, or at least give it a try. I would partition the hard drive with your osx dvd first, using diskutility make two partitions, dont install osx yet. Reboot, insert windows 7, format the second partition for windows and then continue the install. Then reboot and finish the osx install on its partition. You will need to find a startup disk with gparted, most linux distros, and gparted also has there own startup disk. Load gparted, you will see your partitions on the screen once gparted is running. Select your windows partition, there is a menu, cant remember exactly where, but it is for managing flags. Once that menu is open deselect the boot flag, close the window. Select the mac partition and open the flag menu for it, select the boot flag. Close gparted and reboot. Hopefully you will now get he osx boot loader with windows 7 as an option. Good luck.

did all of that, and osx was already flagged. and i get windows as a boot option. problem is that windows will not boot. i get an error. osx works fine, win 7 shows up but won't load. i started another thread to work this out...
