Inspiron 1721 Installation problems

I have a Dell Inspiron 1721 laptop and am trying to dual boot windows 7 and Leopard 10.5. I have installed it successfully 3 times, picking the correct video drivers and settings but when I boot up it just spins at the apple symbol for as long as I wait. I think i have gotten everything correct but my choice of the kernel and I cannot figure out the best for it because of the AMD proccessor. I have tried voodoo thinking it was the best but can't get it to work. Has anyone been able to run leopard on this computer? I am very good with mac but apperently out of practice with getting it installed. Any help would be great I hate spending hours testing out new configurations only to get no where.
