I am sure that every day you get someone that comes on here asking if their hardware will work with the project. I have not been by in awhile, and I remember that when I did look into it before it seemed that some of my components were not working properly so I decided to go with a Linux installation. It has been a year now, we've seen a new release of OS X, and I am yearning to really get my hands on a hackintosh installation on my main desktop machine. But I wanted to run it by some people that would be able to give me pointers.

I do not have the exact board specifications, I could go look, but I think some of you guys would be able to tell me quickly if it is even worth the trouble of throwing a second hard-drive in and attempting the installation never having installed OSx86 before.

I have an Asus II Extreme with 790i chipset so I think they are similar. On my board everything works with both leopard and snow leopard (in 32 bit mode) except sleep and vanilla cpu throttling. Your videocards are compatible so you won't have problems.
