vaff
Hi, I'm new to installing and going a OSx86, but I already have a macbook pro and I love it. So when my motherboard broke down on my pc, I decided idd make it into a OSx86 (Snow Leopard) machine. But I need some advice: my pc is a: cpu: Core2Duo 3.0ghz (which should be compatible) gfx: XFX GeForce 8800GT XXX 512MB GDDR3 ram: 4gb mb: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR So my questions are, do i need to buy anything extra ? ... like soundcard, network ? And lastly, everything should be capable to run a vanilla install right ? richtig
Using a SATA optical & HD is recommended, so: no IDE. The onboard audio & network should be fine. If you're planning on dual-booting with Windows, a separate dedicated OSX SATA hard drive would be much preferred. And if you want to try the "USB install method", an 8 Gb (or larger) USB flash drive would be something useful to have. Good luck!
