MixableInc
Ok so I'm kinda new to this Hackintosh thing. I'm having all kinds of problems... I'm trying to install iPC 10.5.6 on my PC. I boot from the disc and let it boot without typing anything and it flashes the Apple screen then reboots. So next I boot from the disc, press F8, and type -v. It starts loading then flashes text and reboots. Next I try typing -f. It does the same thing. Next I try typing cpus=1 -v. This time it freezes at Waiting for boot volume with UUID 86EE blah-blah-blah Waiting on <dict ID="0"></key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict> I'm stuck and I dont know what to do! Please help me someone!! Danaan
Try to turn off AHCI in BIOS in case it's enabled. An alternate would be you try booting from the DVD using cpus=1 -x -v. Also the problem might lie in your IDE DVD Burners. People were complaining about this, and I recon you try booting from a SATA DVD-ROM/RW+ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187742-ipc-installation-help-needed/#findComment-1273984 Share on other sites

I got it to finally load after using cpus=1 -v and after turning off EHCI and Speedstep in my bios along with taking out my graphics card.... any ideas on how to get it to work with my graphics card??? Also, when I get to the instillation part it tells me my disc is dirty or scratched, I've cleaned it and its fine, I've also re-burned the ISO to a new disc and I still get the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187742-ipc-installation-help-needed/#findComment-1274244 Share on other sites
Danaan
Please provide the following details: What distro DVD are you using? (iPC, iATKOS, Kalyway, etc.) and what version? At the installation part just skip the disc check, it's not required for the os to be installed. About the video card, I have no idea. I have a NVIDIA 8600 GT PCI-E card and it works w/ no problems.
