I managed to get iAtkos S3 v2 installed with EmpireEFI also.

quick guide:

1) Boot from empireEFI cd

2) eject and insert iAtkos S3 v2

3) Boot with flags -x -v

4) you will still get the "FIREWIRE GUID 0000000 blah blah" error. just let it go for a little bit and eventually the SL setup screen will come up

5) i didnt choose any customizations except for Broadcom drivers, voodooPS2 and voodooBattery. everything else was left stock.

(uncheck ApplePS2 driver)

feel free to try out some of the other patches and drivers like sleep, ACHI, chipset, TSCsync, etc. and post your results.

6) INSTALL and go get a cup of coffee

7) after it installs and you set up. DELETE EVERY kext that has the word FIREWIRE (System/Library/Extensions)

8) open DISK UTILITIES and repair permissions (it might take some time depending on size)

9) reboot system

10) enjoy SNOW LEOPARD

** as of the writting im still working on getting native res with Intel 4500MHD **

will post when successfull

** UPDATE**

SUCCESSFUL WORKING NATIVE RESOLUTION

So after many reinstalls and trying out various kexts, nothing worked. i finally managed to get full res but no QE/CI. thanks to DEVIATO, heres how i did it:

1) download DEVIATO's modified Chameleon 2 rc4 Specifically tailored for 4500mhd (works for other x4500 variants too)

2)http://deviato.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/chameleon-2-rc4-for-intel-gma-version-2/

3) copy the chameleon folder to your desktop

4) open up TERMINAL and copy the boot file to your root

$ cd Desktop/ChameleonMR2

$ sudo cp boot /

$ sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdiskXXX <--- change to your disk #

$ sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXXXsXXX <--- Change to your disk and partition #

$ sudo cp boot /

5) Now copy your com.apple.Boot.plist to the desktop, open the copy with text editor, add

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>FFFFxFFFxFF</string>

(add your own supported resolution)

6) replace original com.apple.Boot.plist with the modified one from your desktop

7) repair permissions

8) reboot

You should now have full native res. You wont be able to use front row, iChat and a few others.

will post when successfull
