badlydrawn
Hi Everyone, I'm having a problem installing Snow Leopard on my Asus P5N72-T Premium. I figured I would try and follow lifehackers guide and maybe I would be able to try and match his bios settings as best as I could on my motherboard. I was able to successfully put snowleopard on the USB and boot from USB as well. I see the darwin loader and everything, and when I finally do see the apple logo and spinning wheel, the screen goes dark and it tells me that I need to restart my computer. I'm thinking this may have something to do with AHCI. I'm not sure what that is, all I know is that lifehacker's guide says that it is particularly important. I've tried looking through the bios and cannot find anything at all pertaining to AHCI. I've checked the SATA controller menu and everything, I cannot find it. I know the guide was designed to work specifically on the Gigabyte mobo, but I figured I would give this a shot. If anyone has advice as to what I can do I would be very appreciative! =) Or if someone can point me in the right direction on how I can get a retail USB install of snowleopard on this mobo, that would be awesome too. Thanks! *UPDATE* Okay, after some research I found out that Snow Leopard can only be installed on intel based mother boards? Is this correct? If that's the case then I may need to get a new mobo, in which it would be the gigabyte. If I do, then everything should work perfectly right? Core 2 Quad Dual nVidia Quadro graphics cards 8 GB ram 2 650GB SATA HDs Should be good with that hardware on the gigabyte yes?
