Hi fellow mac enthusiasts.

My question has two paths, I basically need a little advice.

In the last 48 hours I've attempted to install OSx86 with: Kalyway, iDeneb, iPC and the boot 132 method with my mbp reinstall dvd AND my leo dvd.

iDeneb: I got to "about a minute" then a kernel panic, with "getPhysicalSegment () out of 32b range" I tried a couple fixes and drives to add to the install.

Using the boot 132 method I get it to start reading the dvd then I get the circle with a line through it.

iPC: I had 2 versions, the beta and the final PPFT5 version. Tried the final version first. At this point I started getting an "Unable to install on "Mac" " (which was the name of my mac partition on my hd.) So I went back into disc utility and repartitioned it, restarted it, same error. I put iDeneb back in and got the same error, so I shut my computer off and moved my hd cable to a different slot. then restarted it. I haven't got this error since. I put the beta iPC dvd in and got ALL the way thru the install to the green checkmark, on restart I got the same screen during the 132 method, the White Apple startup, the evergoing circle, and the Circle with a line through it.

At this point I basically gave up on the idea of having macosx86 on my computer. I tried a few more things like restarting with the dvd and installing certain patches, fixes. still to no avail.

So, me being completely against windows, decided to install ubuntu jaunty. again.

This is where I discovered a big problem.... After installation, on the restart my computer freezes.... I see the Bios screen fine, it reads my memory fine, my hd's fine.... the pci devices screen pops up, reads fine. Then it starts the boot sequence, Dvd check = no, so It (in a perfect world) would load from my hd....but instead it just sits there....

I am completely stumped, on the install of ubuntu I put it on the same hd and it even read "Mac OS X" on it, it asked me if I was sure because it would overwrite it... lol. So according to some parts of my computer, it worked fine, and according to... other parts, It just gets confused.

I have no idea what to do... I was ready to accept my losses and move on, but I can't even do that. I've even reflashed my bios and I still get this error.

2 possible routes, someone knows exactly how to fix this and I install ubuntu, or... someone knows exactly what I did wrong and suggests I retry osx86 (maybe a different distro)..

Heres the specs for my build:

Gigabyte GA-965P-S3

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 ghz

8GB GSkill 800mhz (4x 1gb)

WD250 (Mac Journaled Extended)

WD640 (NTFS) <-- my "storage" drive, no OS on it.

NVIDIA 9600 GSO (768mb)

ASUS DVDRW

Geninue Apple Keyboard and Mouse

Any input would be appreciated, I fear for the worst, but hope for the best.
