wixdfast
I have two HDDs 1.) 500GB - Windows 7 (Unable to access) http://i38.tinypic.com/2dkn2o3.jpg 2.) 20GB - 10.5.8 (Yeah, I know it's small, but at least it works). Plugged in via USB I cannot boot into the Windows 7 and I've tried numerous times to repair/restore the MBR but all attempts have failed. Any ideas? Please and thank you! wixdfast
Do you mean the order I installed the OSes? 1.) Windows 7, been using it for 2 weeks now. 2.) Mac OS X 10.5.8, been using it for 1 day now. Windows 7 is installed on my 500GB (SATA, internal), Mac OS X is installed on my 20GB (IDE/USB, external) Or did you mean what have I tried in the command prompt? 1.) Bootrec.exe /FixMbr 2.) Bootrec.exe /FixBoot 3.) Bootrec.exe /ScanOs 4.) Bootrec.exe /RebuildBcd Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187499-need-quick-help/#findComment-1272270 Share on other sites

chokia
You should have unplugged the 500GB HDD cable before you installed OSX in the portable HDD. Installation of OSX definitely damaged the active partition/bootable primary active hdd. 1. Remove the portable OSX and repair w7 with DVD. 2. After W7 repaired, Install Boot Think inside W7 (make sure Darwin/MBR/SetupMBr.bat clicked after complete) 3. Connect portable OSX and reboot If the above failed then go to BIOS and make sure 500GB boot first and not USB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187499-need-quick-help/#findComment-1272476 Share on other sites
wixdfast
I've tried repairing Windows 7, several times. I've done the "Repair" the "Restore" and a plethora of "FixMBR.exe and such codes", and yet still nothing works!!
