F123456
Hi, and thanks for any help you can provide! I'm trying to get OS X 10.4.4 or 10.4.6 installed on a Dell 1505 or a 1405 (I have both; issue is the same on both). I have what I *think* is the Jas 10.4.6 DVD, and also a 10.4.4 DVD (not Jas, but Patched). When I try and install, I ge upto the license agreement part with no issues. Then it goes to the Select Destination option, and the area in which I which I should be able to choose a Destination Volume is completely empty. I did partition the drive on one of the computers, and set it to Primary -- no change. Both notebooks have SATA hard drives only, and I've been choosing the basic install from when the DVD first boots -- I couldn't seem to find any useful options there to try and force it to load a SATA driver. Guessing I'm missing something obvious, but I just can't figure out what! Any ideas/suggestions/help/links would REALLY be appreciated! Thank you, F123456. F123456
Have a poke around in Disk Utility (in the Utilities menu of the installer). Thanks! That's what I needed to get me going. Was able to find and format the partition. Is installing now.
