kylejohn
Hi this is my first post in the hackintosh community so please bear with me. I have tried to read as many guides as possible before posting this. Here are my system specs CPU type:Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz Motherboard: GA-G31M-ES2L Rev 2.0 (does not support AHCI) ATI Radeon HD 4850, 512mb 240 gig SATA HD 4 gigs Samsung ram LG Super-Multi DVD/CD R/W Im attempting to installIve tried a variety of install methods, using CDs to boot, dvds for install and others. After about two weeks of trying the farthest I have got was to the loading screen after the boot installer as mentioned in: http://lifehacker.com/5351485/how-to-build...ootloader_guide However I repeatedly get stuck at the spinning wheel. I have tried this same method using 10.5 and SL but get stuck at the same part with the spinning wheel in the corner. I am installing FRESH from a formatted HD with nothing else on it. New MB and just recently refurbished it into more OSX friendly parts. Perhaps my bios need more tweeking? Or maybe its my kexts? Im using those present from other guides. Any help would be appriciated. Don't want to spend a 3rd weekend trying to figure this out. Cheers. vilpostus
Boot with -v flag. You'll see where the boot process has stopped. kylejohn
Boot with -v flag. You'll see where the boot process has stopped. I'll do this when I get home and post the results. Hopefully I can figure this out with some help. Much appriciated. Arisian
same issue! Im trying some different kernels(which is sounds like you have done), but Im not getting much luck. The OS basically loses the HD and then it just sits there. Having a HD light on your machine would probably help alot in this case. I apologize, I know I havent given you much help... maybe some sympathy though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187317-stuck-at-spinning-wheel-ga-g31m-es2l-rev-20/#findComment-1271113 Share on other sites
