Neodymium
bump. Anyone?!?!?? HELP!??!!? You should post more specs for your notebook...is it AMD? Then follow usual guides for installing Snow with Voodoo kernel... Google and Insanely Mac are your friends...lots of guides here, search using your specs vs. computer model... terramir
My specs are: 2.8 c2d ATI 4650 4g ram 320 hdd we need a few more details to help you. Since it's a c2d should be able to use the vanilla kernel to make yours a mac. A. what is your chipset? B. what's your audio codec/ card inside C. what's your ethernet and wireless cards, you want to search on all these items first so see if there are kext availible or that thing will be pretty useless you'll also need a 8gb flash/card or an external HD, Also is your HD sata? and if so does the bios sata offer an AHCI mode cause if not your gonna need an ata patching kext, and it depends on your laptop's configuration what kext/ and bootloaders etc you'll need good luck if you post this data you'll probabaly get the link to quite a few more instructions terramir Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187287-snow-leopard-on-an-asus-laptop-help/#findComment-1273548 Share on other sites

terramir
how do I get that specific in checking my wifi card? also where do I begin? I'm assuming your running widowz, right click on my computer properties, or through the control panel get to the system properties, click the hardware tab, go to the device manager click to the plus sign next to network adapters right click on the controller in question choose properties, then go to the Details Tab and the first selection of the drop down box should be Device instance ID and well you should read right there in the space below something like this: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002B&SUBSYS_10891A3B&REV............................... All you care about is the PCI ID Vend and dev: 168c:002b is the 9285 autheros wifi card I wish I had the 9280 (which by the way is naiativly supported and has a pci vend ID of 168c:002a so I'm stuck right now I can't even find a decent usb wifi card that works in Snow Leopard. terramir Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/187287-snow-leopard-on-an-asus-laptop-help/#findComment-1278124 Share on other sites
