Hey, all,

this is my first time trying to install OSX. I have followed this guide to the letter, and am getting the following error:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8006626a3): "CPU 1 has no HPET assigned to it"
@/SourceCache/AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-90/pmThread.c:164

I am running:

EVGA 750i SLI FTW motherboard

Intel Core 2 Duo e6750 CPU

Nvidia Geforce 9600 GSO GPU

SATA everything, including DVD reader

I have HPET enabled, and I really dont know what to do from here. Can anyone shed some light on this? I will post anything else that you might need, just give the word :) . I appreciate any and all help.

Thanks,

Tekgek

See my guide here for Snow Leopard and here for Leopard..... :rolleyes:

okay, i have taken all kexts that your guide said to install on the flash disk, and copied them to the Extra/Extensions folder on my install flash disk. i am now getting still waiting for root device. What should I do now?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that i tried the following boot parameters:

-x32 -v -f

arch=i386 -v -f

I am in the exact same situation at the moment. The guides referenced by verdant above require that I install both Leopard and then Snow Leopard, which seems a bit intense, but maybe that's the only option. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who finds a solution!

Thanks.

Have you set up your BIOS correctly for OS X....? See my Series 6 thread post #1 or my Series 7 thread post #1 depending on your MOBO's nForce chipset.......
