Hello, I have been lurking this forum for some time and now I have finally decided to try and install OSX on my laptop.

I have a Sager 5797 (Clevo M571TU) that currently has 64 bit Vista Home Professional, my goal is to install Snow Leopard.

My question is, has anyone done this before? I haven't found anythin online about doing dual booting this machine, and if anyone has done it before I was wondering if I could get any pointers or warnings before I start this.

One of my biggest concerns is video card drivers. I have a GTX 280m in my laptop and I am positive Apple doesn't offer this as an option on any of their laptops... So the question is: does a solution exist for this video card? Also, if one doesn't, is it possible to run OSX without a video card? Does the CPU itself handle graphics if no video card is present?

My CPU by the way is a T9800 (2.93 ghz).

This process is scary... One last question... If something goes terribly wrong with the install, will windows vista be hosed? My goal is to be able to pick an OS at startup.

Lots of questions and worries from a noob... :-/

If I were you I really wouldn't try to dual boot if I were you. I've done several difficult OSX installs and if this is your first one you are guaranteed to run into a bunch of problems on that setup. Its doable as long as the 280M works which is what I'm trying to find out now. Worst comes to worst you can always reinstall windows. If you don't mind some frustration and having a non-working laptop until you figure it out then I say try it though. Don't expect it to be easy. Just a hint look into the latest chameleon then find the kexts (drivers) for each device on your computer.

Good luck!
