romulus15
Ok...I've done a few installs of OSX86 using different distros and am pretty comfortable with how everything works and patches. But I'm stumped now. I installed the latest version of iATKOS on my P6N SLI Platinum board. I know, nForce sucks (on a side note, recommendations for a fully compatible mobo for Core 2 Duo and DDR2 ram?). Anyway...install went well, no problems, everything works with cpus=1 maxmem=2048 (nForce driver issues). I upgrade to 10.5.8 which breaks the install, boot off the CD, repair the drivers and I'm up and running again with vanilla 9.8.0 kernel. I extracted a newer nForceATA.kext from the iDeneb CD and here's where it goes down hill. System still runs fine, except for mounting DMG files. Seatbelt.kext matches the kernel version. I changed kernels to Voodoo 2 Alpha 3, change the seatbelt.kext to a matching 9.7.0 version, still can't mount DMG files. I changed kernels back to the stock 9.8.0 kernel, downloaded another 9.8.0 seatbelt.kext, still can't mount DMG's. I restored the original iATKOS nForceATA.kext file, still can't mount DMG. I have no idea where to go other than completely reloading the system again (I have a CCCloner backup DMG fortunately). Any leads on where I can go to get DMG's to mount. It's really my only issue that I still face (other than nForce 2GB ram limit). Even with the new 64 bit reference driver, I still get a KP in the 32b boundaries. Thanks for your help. srs5694
On my systems, I need seatbelt.kext from OS X 10.5.5 or the system crashes when I try to mount a .dmg file. romulus15
Just tried that one. It actually crashes faster than any other I've tried. I'm using the kext's found at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=148566 Maybe someone can post their working seatbelt.kext that works with vanilla 9.8.0 kernel? Thanks.
