Hi, I am running OS X JaS version 10.4.6 on my Dell D600.

Since I am unable to use the built-in wireless (Intel 2100) at this point,

I have decided that to try it with my WPC54G v.1 card (as stated from the Wiki page,

this should card should work.)

The problem that I am having is that during the first initial setup, the wireless

part works fine, and when I entered the WEP key it got connected with the router.

After that I did a reboot, but this time wireless won't come up.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

by the way, I just used the "System profiler"

and I got the following info :

AirPort Card Information :

Wireless Card Type : AirPort Extreme

Wireless Card locale : USA

Wireless card fireware version : 100.9 (3.120.28.3)

Current Wireless network : AirPort is currently turned off

is there anyway to turn it back on?

After boot up the airport icon is visible in top bar but is greyed out in Network Prefs

Modify /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

-en0->en1

-A couple lines down of en0->en1, change 0 to 1 too...

reboot

It should now find the [...] chipset as being a Airport Extreme Card (lots of money saved here ;) )
