setec
In my thread on getting x86 to work on my Gateway, I mention about the built in wifi. I followed directions to get it working so that it was recognized as an airport device. Now I have wifi. http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?sh...findpost&p=9233 However, any widgets I use with Konfabulator tell me that my signal strength is zero. When I run apps like macstumbler, it doesn't detect any wifi hardware or any networks even though I am obviously connected to a wifi network. So, the wifi hack works to get on the internet, but other apps can't find the wifi details. Has anyone using the broadcom hack or maybe even the USB Belkin Ralink hack been able to get apps to recognize the hardware? I did find one universal binary app that detects my network with my wifi hacked to work: istumbler It detects my signal strength and everything. Pretty cool app. So, I am wondering if this is working because it was also compiled for x86. Anyone else have any working, non-working apps or just some thoughts on this? setec
What wireless card are you using and is it PCMCIA, USB or internal on the laptop? Macstumbler won't detect any signal strength or even my network with my internal broadcom wifil.
