Zev23
Hi all, I just installed NTFS-3G for my OSx86 (10.5.7). No problem in read-write & automount to ntfs drives so far. As my Mac drive is small (80GB), I'm planning to moved all the iMovie projects folder and GarageBand Lessons to the NTFS drive (500GB) and create symbolic link so that the application doesn't break. Assume my windows drive is "WinVista", the lesson folder is "Lesson" and I have copied all the mwand folder here. I run the following command to create symbolic link: >su > cd /Library/Application\ Support/GarageBand/Learn\ To\ Play/ > rmdir Artist\ Lessons > ln -s /Volumes/WinVista/Lesson Artist\ Lessons > cd Artist\ Lessons > ls -la So now I can see all my mwand. Start GB. Nothing shown under "Learn To Play". Try "open existing project" to open lesson manually. Lesson can be load but says "XXXXXXX.caf is missing" so no sound output but video playback is alright. Now I rollback everything and place the lesson mwand back to the folder in the Mac drive. Everything is ok so it is not the problem with mwand. Does anyone try something like this before and succeed? I haven't tested with the iMovie Projects. I'm using Ntfs-3g 2009.4.4 Leopard 10.5.7 Windows Vista's NTFS format Thanks Zev23 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185210-some-problem-using-symbolic-link-to-ntfs-drive-with-ilife-app-data/ Share on other sites
Zev23
Ok seems like iMovie and iDVD project has no problem sitting in NTFS drives. Maybe I just put back all the Artist Lessons in Mac Drive.
