babaganoush69
Hello everyone, I have been getting a kernel panic in Final Cut whenever I'm exporting - usually 3-5 minutes in. From my research, I have a feeling it's because of the heavy disk use, but I am not sure and have no ideas on how to fix this. Recently upgraded from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 to try to fix this, but I'm getting the same problem. Voodoo kernel XFX Nforce 688i LT Intel Quad Core 2.67 4 GB ram Leopard is installed on an ATA drive, but I'm also using an eSATA drive. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Beerkex'd
ATA driver 64-bit addressing bug. Boot with maxmem=2048 and try the best you can to make it crash. If it doesn't crash, that means you need updated ATA drivers. babaganoush69
Great, thanks for the info Beerkex'd. The maxmem=2048 stopped the panic from happening. I'm still working on a more permanent solution, but now I'm on the right track. Thanks again. D.Moscowstar
hi. I changed IOATAFamily to another one and it resolved the panic, but now it detects only 2 SATA ports and I use 3. I have a correct kext for Leopard but it doesn't work with Snow Leo because it's 32 bit I suppose Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/185187-ioatablockstorage-kernel-panic-1057-1058/#findComment-1500405 Share on other sites
