Ryan Trevisol
Hey everyone, I'm having a really strange intermittent problem with my newest OSX86 Build. First, a one-liner of background: This isn't my first Hackintosh I installed Leo4All 10.5.2 on my Dell E510 seems like aaages ago. But it has been awhile. Second, here's the system in question: Intel D945GTP board 945G Express Chipset Integrated GMA950 Graphics (Patched with the MSI Wind driver) Intel Pro 10/100 (It's not listed as Pro 100 VE, but that's the fix I used to get it working) 4x SATA w/Hardware RAID Celeron D 335 (Prescott) 2.8GHz LGA 775 2GB DDR2 533MHz Boot Drive: IDE 200GB Western Dig Add'l Drives: SATA 500GB x2 (will be set up as Raid 1) iAktos v7 with Apple's Server packages installed Using as Server for Time Machine + Prowl updates Third, here's my problem: Everything works great, but intermittently my network connectivity goes down. But not all the way down. It will work great for a day or so, and then I'll just stop receiving my Prowl notifications while I'm at work. Sure enough, when I go home, it no longer shows up on Bonjour. My first thought is that there was a Kernel panic and I'm gonna have to fix some driver. So I reboot it, logon via ARD, and there's NO kernel panic in the Console Log. So the next time it did it, I just left it alone. I let it run while it wasn't sending me notifications, and sure enough, several hours later, it just started working again. Sometimes, while it's working, AFP shares will work, sometimes they won't. ARD seems to work (via Bonjour) more often than anything else. I can't administer it via the Server Admin tool, either with its IP address or its .local address. The only strange entries in the Console are these two that seem to appear very frequently (like several times an hour: 9/7/09 7:57:45 AM servermgrd[67] servermgr_web: Unable to get valid response from servermgr_teams; using default group services settings 9/7/09 7:57:45 AM servermgrd[67] servermgr_web: Unable to get valid response from servermgr_teams; no themes So the possibilities are: Network card is not installed correctly, need driver Network card is incompatible, need compatible, cheap PCI NIC Router could be hosed. It's a ~4 year old Belkin 802.11G piece of {censored} that isn't working too well with my Unibody on Snow Leopard ???? Any help would be appreciated. Here's how I installed: First tried Boot-132 on my system wouldn't boot. Boot-146 + Retail Leopard Server and Client (this almost worked but I got kernel panics; maybe because i burned the discs to DVD+R, maybe it was my processor, oh well) Finally, I downloaded iAktos v7 and installed with these options: No EFI (couldn't figure out what applied to me here, so I left it out) Chameleon 2 RC1 Appropriate drivers where I could find them, there weren't many Once install completed, I reinstalled Chameleon 2 RC2, and have the following Kexts in my Extras folder: AHCIPortInjector AppleDecrypt AppleIntel8255x (The network card) AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer (fixes the limited resolution thing) ATAPortInjector Disabler IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector JMicronATAInjector Once everything was working, I popped in my Leopard Server disc (10.5.8 I believe) and installed the necessary packages manually.
