vilpostus
Boot > F8 > -v You should then see what is the problem. It most likely be "still waiting for the root device". If it's so - use forum search with "still waiting for the root device" typed in the search bar. vilpostus
"...use forum search with "still waiting for the root device" typed in the search bar." I see message "Still waiting for root device" when i use -v yes, exactly you see that message not the grey apple logo with stop sign, only because you use -v. Doing so one can figure out the problem. So now you know the problem. It is the famous "Still waiting for root device" problem. Next your question will be - 'How can I fix it?" The answer is "...use forum search with "still waiting for the root device" typed in the search bar." But you are not going to do that... So. Get another distro e.g. Kalyway 10.5.1 or iDeneb or whatever you can get. The problem is that the on-board SATA controller is not supported by the Install DVD. In other words, there are no drivers for your motherboard in the disk you are installing from. vilpostus
You need a bootloader to boot both OS'es. E.G. http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Easy...umentation+Home Then use this how-to http://neosmart.net/wiki/display/EBCD/Mac+OS+X Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/184439-help-please/#findComment-1255260 Share on other sites

vilpostus
Well... To install the OS X you need only the Installation DVD. But to boot it, if you have another OS installed (Vista in your case), you need a special program which let's you chose what OS to boot. If OS X is the only OS you have, than no such program is needed.
