Sloblocks
Hi. It's been a long time since I contributed anything here. Last time, I was messing with a Dell 1525 and dual boot. I've decided to upgrade my main rig to be more compliant hardware for OSx86. My dilemma is whether to go Core2Quad or i7. The i7 path is at least twice as much moolah. Here's my current rig : MSI P6N SLI Platinum mobo Intel E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz Core2Duo 2x2GB G.Skill DDR2 PC2-6400 Powertek 750W F5-Series PSU (3 years old, so probably not i7-ready) BFG Maxcore GTX 260 WD 1TB Caviar Black I created two NewEgg wishlists that represent my best (I think!!!) options... Core i7 Wishlist Core2Quad Wishlist So the big question is.... Given that moving to an i7 will incur additional cost for PSU, RAM above the existing premium, is it worth the extra? Opinions much appreciated!!! Cheers, Rich. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183916-upgrading-from-msicore2duo-best-path/ Share on other sites
