Twinnie
So I need to extend my Mac partition, I do most of my stuff using Easus on Windows but it won't touch my Mac partition. I downloaded a boot CD in DMG format and burnt it following the instructions but when I try to boot from it it just gets ignored and goes on to boot normally. What do I have to do to get this working? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/183705-booting-a-dmg/ Share on other sites
Oczo
You may need to expand the DMG file before burning to CD/DVD. You can open the file in Windows using TransMac. Once in TransMac, right click the file and select "Expand Disk Image" and choose a name for the file. Once expanded, set the file to Read Only and change the file extension from DMG to ISO. Finally, open Nero, close the "New Compilation" window, select the drive you are going to burn to and then select "Burn Image..." from the Recorder menu and open the uncompressed file you changed to ISO. If Nero complains that the size is wrong, there is another problem and you should not burn the image; otherwise, it should be recognized as bootable.
