ex_hustler
Hello, I am waiting for my new iMac to be delivered. In order to get used to the new operating system I made some tests to install iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 DVD. After a lot of tests Leopard did start and surprisingly almost all devices are functioning. The exact configuration options that I used is the following: Kernel 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel Chipset: Intel ICHx SATA Drivers Intel GMA900 AC97 Audio Ethernet PCGenRTL8139 Intel PROSet/Wireless 2200 PS/2 Keyboard Fix PS/2 Mouse Fix Applications Sata Drive Icon Fix Patced USB Drivers Screen resolution 1280*800, Lan Ethernet and sound works like a charm. Touchpad also. I don't have a firewire device to test firewire. Wifi connects only to unsecured wireless lans. Laptop fans don't start when Toshiba is warming up after some use. I think this is not good for long use. It might damage CPU or laptops Motherboard. My general conclusion is that it is really worth it for educational and exprerimental purpuses. You can't paint red a Lada car and then call it a Ferrari. It has some problems so I will still be using Linux and Windows since I have software licence for the last one.
