I ran the 4th version (v0.4) SSE3->SSE2 solution

http://forum.osx86project.org/index.php?showtopic=832

EVO N610C

2.0 GHz M CPU sse2 laptop

Maybe its not sse2?

It ran the patch, executed OK

Said reboot would not shut down

Now it goes as far as the screen where you see the blue scrolling and that’s it

Everything worked before patch internet even sound, but of course no itunes

Can I undue it if I can’t get into OS-x?

no big deal I can reinstall, its been fun and sure learned alot

Try running it in single user mode (just type -s in the boot menu) from there you can run the patch and choose the option to recover the old files.

The same thing happened to me, but it was because I had deleted the TPMACPI.kext which is supposed to be there when installing the patch (you can delete the file later anyway).

Using the sinle user it goes to a command window not os-x

I did not copy files to H/D I ran it from a usb flash memory the command windows does not regogize it

Thats what I did also delete that TPMACPI.kext to make it run faster I think nearly every one does that

I started over again clean install

And the patch worked no crashing safari, itunes works

I'm a happy camper

I still deleted that Apple tmp I don’t know if it’s needed after the patch

How can I get docking bar to magnify like a real Mac?

WIFI will be next

When I put a DVD movie in, it spits it out

I updated itunes no problem

OOOps

I updated quicktime to latest now it wont boot, not even in safe -x

can I undue this?

Maybe I should'nt have removed that file that makes it run faster?

I will have to make an image next time instead of re-installing

I notice docking magnifer works

I made an image using Norton Ghost booting fron CD it detected usb drive

restoring is another story, but I'm sure it will work

Acronis and Power quest drive image would not work

You should've copied the patch files to your hard disk (your home folder, for instance). That's why I said you could run single user mode to recover the old files (and yes, single user mode is only a command line... but very useful).

Thanks for the tip I should have done that, installing from scratch only takes about 20 minutes now.

I have it imaged now as lots of things could make it unbootable, like Quick time update

I am going to try and get a hold of office 2004 and try that next

reformat, reinstall osx, delete your ati kexts and any other kexts you want to get rid of, then after you are done with that, install the ss3 emu patch v4

i had the same problem, and i found out that the ati kexts were somehow messing the ss3 emu up, or vice versa.
