R3van
Hello, i`ve spend a lot of time to get my Graphics Card and Sound (ATI HD3850, Realtek 885) working per dsdt in Leo. Now i`m trying to find some informations what is all needed to switch to Snow Leo and my question is: Can i use this dsdt.aml further or do i have to change things in that dsdt.aml, can i expect that my Graphics Card and Sound works further like in Leo? tapper00`
You can use it for sure. I'm not sure about your DFI board but I know on the Gigabyte boards you have to make a small modification to the RTC section to keep the cmos from resetting every reboot. You may not have to. R3van
That sounds good I have to read more about the cmos reset issue. Anybody knows something about the HD3850 and the ALC885? Since both of them are supported natively in Leo i hope it will be the same in Snow, but i found only infos about the 48xx series Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182772-dsdtaml-from-leo-to-snow/#findComment-1242258 Share on other sites
R3van
I found something at netkas.org about the cmos fix: Snow Leopard cmos reset fix July 11th 2009 Posted to Bugs, Snow Leopard This very annoying bug first appeared in 10a28X build of snow leopard. Stellarola recently found a fix for it, need to edit RTC section in dsdt. Since RTC vars located in nvram area, looks like it was overlapping with other nvram vars(in snow leo applertc), so they got corrupted. the fix is to decrease length of IO segment from 4 to 2. In my dsdt is the value at 4 so i will try it with both values and i will see what happens Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182772-dsdtaml-from-leo-to-snow/#findComment-1242621 Share on other sites
