tcgiant
Finally got OSx86 working using the vmware image, through the dd method. For some reason, windows will let you plop a 4gb file onto a FAT32 partition, but I should have known better. Moving the tarball to my spare NTFS part allowed me to untar it into a full six-gig image file and dd it onto the hfs+ partition. My hardware is an MSI K8T Neo-2 FIR with a gigabyte of RAM(ddr400), an athlon 64 3500+ newcastle(SSE2 only), three IDE hard drives, one SATA drive(recognized by MacOS, amazingly), a DVD-ROM and a CD-RW, both unrecognized because they're on a third IDE bus through an on-board controller, a GeForce 4 Ti 4600 video card with 128 megs of VRAM, a Sound Blaster Audigy, and a Linksys WEP11 wireless network card. I think the network card has an intersil chip on it, but I don't know for sure. I'm going to try finding drivers for them, but I'm just glad it works, even if I don't have sound, or wlan, or the ability to change my video size without command-line options. >_> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/1824-athlon-64-3500-newcastle-working/ Share on other sites
