MadSkillzMan
Alright guys..ive installed osx on powerpc/Macintel plenty of times, memorized my friggen XP Key, and linux is just for fun, but so far this osx on my OPtiplex GX270 is driving me crazy ESPECIALLY when i see people succeeding! Pentium 4 2.6ghz with hyper threading 40GB IDE HDD Nvidia 440 1gb ram Bios is A07, Power mode is S3, same results with hyper threading enabled/disabled basically I'm sick of the family computer dying because people don't understand VIRUSES..blah blah blha anyways i used iATKos v7, and followed the guide on here. Installs just fine, but it will not get past the boot screen..Ive tried installing 9 ways of sunday and cant get it past (ie changed settings in customize, going from base system do various kexts) Soooo i figured id try boot 132 and my retail disc..only one required the patched legacy kernel to run on a p4....yea where the HECK can i get that?? (the kernel) otherwise it just says "bios error" in an infinite loop..theres a link to a modified boot 132 on here, but the link is dead Also i cant seem to get it to boot in verbose mode, ie, which key is the apple key? Im using a dell keyboard on my G5 and its the WIndows start key...but pressing this and V on startup of the hackintosh doesn't give me the pretty rolling code as OpenFirmware does on the PPC, (little different than EFI guys..) so i can't seem to diagnose my problem. It'll run for about 5 minutes circling, and then that stops, but i see my HDD activity light go for another minute or 2 then go dead. I appreciate any help!
