AnotherOne
I've used leopard on my desktop pc over 1 year. Now I've sold my desktop pc and bought a new notebook, the acer aspire 5536g with this components: AMD Athlon 64 X2 QL-61 2,1GHz 4GB RAM ATI HD 4570 Graphics Card with 512MB VRAM AMD M780G Chipset SB700 320 GB SATA Harddisc DVD DRIVE SATA And here is the problem: I used a few versions of hackintosh but the result is everytime the same. I can install leopard but after the installation there is a kernel panic. I tried many kernels but it doesnt matter. The hackintosh's I tried were: iAtkos v4a Kalyway 10.5.2 iDeneb 1.3 I think the problem is my hardware. Does anybody know if there is a version which works for my notebook Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/182007-leopard-on-an-acer-aspire-5536g/ Share on other sites
method139
I too have an Acer Aspire 5536g (5536G-744G32MN to be precise). Have you had any success in getting OS X to work yet?, because I'm pretty much in the same situation as you are describing in your post... I purchased Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 Retail from Apple and tried to get it to work with the PsyStar DUBL v2.5.00A1 in verbose mode. First, I get "Please insert the Mac OS X DVD" and then, once the DVD is detected, it took a while and then it just shut down without explanation. I then tried using Empire EFI v1.085 R2 AMD Intelli3i5m BootCD (tried the Legacy BootCD as well) with no success; panic(cpu 0 caller 0x558993): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1389" I then proceeded to try Snow Leopard 10.6.1-10.6.2 SSE2 SSE3 Intel AMD by Hazard in verbose. It shuts down without output. Then, I tried iATKOS v7. This is the only one that has even started the installation, but after reboot (if I leave the DVD in), I'm stuck with a gray screen with the Apple logo on it. If I remove the DVD, I get a message telling me that boot fails. Finally, I tried iPC OSx86 10.5.6 in verbose, but it too shuts down without any output indicating the reason. Strange, seeing how Harlen123 got it to run "running fairly sweet" on an Acer Aspire 5536 (which is very similar to our computers; the most notable exception is an ATI Radeon HD 3200 instead of the ATI Radeon 4570 graphics card that we have). Also, in the thread ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4570, Is this card compatible?, DarkSun8 has gotten OS X (he doesn't mention which distro) to run on his Acer Aspire 5536, which might actually be an 5536g, because he claims to have the same card; I have the same card on Acer As 5536.I`ve installed driver for HD 3650 and can`t still change the resolution:( So, at least to me, it seems that iATKOS v7 is the closest to something working for us. I will try it with various combinations of the packages included. Skyper
first of all i think you're better off installing 10.6.2 or trying to install it at least.. i know for a fact that ATI 's 45xx graphics are not supported on anything below 10.6.2..
