.:Section 8:.
So, i really only use OSx for school, so i set it up last year and it ran great... no problems nothing... I have it installed on an external HD that way i can dual boot with other comps... ANYWHO... The hard drive has been sitting on my desk and now that classes are about to start up i wanted to boot back into OSx to get all the updates and what not. So i went to boot into OSx and it began to load Darwin x/86 like it usually does, but then when it usually jumps to the apple logo, it just restarts now and continues to loop... The only changes i have made since running OSx are. 1:Over clocked CPU 2:Updated Bios 3:Upgraded to Win 7. So now i KNOW upgrading to Win.7 would not have caused this problem... (at least i think). I have tried setting back the CPU back to default but still nothing..... So this really only leaves the bios to fault. So i could roll back to f3 from f6, but that's rolling back a little farther then i would like. (IF THAT IS THE PROBLEM). So i guess what I'm asking, is there any way i can boot into safe mode? or some type of diagnostic mode and maybe reinstall (WITHOUT FORMATTING). Because it took me a little while to get all my drivers and everything working at 100% and would like to avoid going through that again... But i did leave myself instruction and all the files to do it; but that is just a last case scenario. Anywho..... any help would be great. Thanks! JPStamper
Seriously? 43 views and no one has ANY suggestions? I'm open to try antything! -Thanks i think you have already found the problem. it's something that changed in the BIOS. Roll it back, see if it works and find out for certain. if that doesn't fix it, then post again. (doing a reinstall will not change anything if the bios is the problem.) .:Section 8:.
Alright so... i rolled back my bios to F3 (the one i had OSx installed on). Tried to restart and nothing... it still just begins to load "darwin x/86" and then restart... I have tried holding/hitting the shift key to get me into safe mode... but still nothing..
