Termite
i currently have a GA-EP45-UD3R has anyone installed Snow leopard on a pc with this motherboard and if so can anyone post how they did it and also what they used ie: kexts, programs etc and my other question is does anyone yet know how to boot from it, apparently there is a mod for boot-132 floating around that is able to do this. if anyone has an answer to these 2 questions please post, this will be totally gratefully appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181796-does-anyone-know-how-to-install-sl-on-ep45-ud3l-or-boot-sl-with-from-dvd/ Share on other sites
Gurujee
i currently have a GA-EP45-UD3R has anyone installed Snow leopard on a pc with this motherboard and if so can anyone post how they did it and also what they used ie: kexts, programs etc and my other question is does anyone yet know how to boot from it, apparently there is a mod for boot-132 floating around that is able to do this. if anyone has an answer to these 2 questions please post, this will be totally gratefully appreciated Hi, one clarification before I answer your questions. In the subject of this post you mentioned EP45-UD3L and in the body of your post, you are refering to EP45-UD3R. Boards are more like the same only difference is the RAID thats why later one ends up with R and not L. Now coming to answers. I have GA-EP45-UD3L and managed to install the Snow Leopard on it in x64bit mode without a single KP or error. I had to spend almost 3 days doing constant searching for various issues and then I got this SEMI-PERFECT running system. Why Semi-Perfect? because these boards use ALC888 chipset for audio and despite of my best efforts I am unable to have sound on Snow Leopard. I am trying and I will get it done, but needs time. I have digged out some good post links and trying to experiment with these. FOR YOUR INFO I am also preparing a detailed guide for this motherboard (EP45-UD3L) to share it with others and will be able to post it by next week. Snow really impressed me with speed and performance as compared to 10.5.7 which I was testing earlier. I used a boot CD method instead of USB install method and got SL running in first attempt. Then I had to correct some issues like CMOS reset fix, DSDT patching, enabling QE/CI/GL etc. I still have two major issues before I could publish my install guide; one is Sound and another is unexpected USB Eject error. If you need any assistance before I could publish my install guide or even after that, send me a message. My specs are EP45-UD3L, Intel E8200 3.0GHz, 4GB RAM, nVidia GF8800GT 512MB, 80GB & 1TB Sata HD and Sata DVD.
