Dual boot Vista-OSX 10.5.2 using Diskpart and BCDEdit

Hi there everybody!

I can boot between PC and Mac only in a very slooow way. I also need to hang around whit 2 DVD's.

The only method I succesfully achieved is using Diskpart:

  1. My primary disk is Vista. EVERYTHING is in there
  2. I open CMD and enter Diskpart
  3. I select disk (the only one), and then the Mac partition (the 18GB one)
  4. I set it to active
  5. I exit CMD and insert my iAtkos 10.5.2 DVD
  6. After rebooting, the BIOS automatically detects the DVD and Darwin starts up
  7. I don't touch it and OSX starts flawlessly
  8. Now, if I want to return to Vista I need to insert Vista's Installation DVD and turn the computer off (I have to force it since it doesn't shut down properly)
  9. I enter Repair>CMD>Diskpart
  10. Select the only disk and Vista's partition, and I set it to active
  11. As I list volumes I find that letters are mixed up (if i don't change them it won't start up)
  12. select volume 0 (Recovery=C)
    assign letter=f
    select volume 1 (PC=D)
    assign letter=c
    select volume 1 (Recovery =F)
    assign letter=d
  13. Now I reboot and after 5 minutes I'm finally back on Vista

There should be a way of getting a proper multiboot

I've tried using BCDEdit, and I actually have a multiboot screen, but it's just decorative

If Vista's partition is active, and iAtkos DVD is not in, the multiboot menu pops up:

Windows -> it enters Windows

Mac OS -> it gives me a HFS error (I use a tboot for filepath)

Mac OS X -> it gives me the chain booting error (I use a chain0 for filepath)

If Vista's partition is active, and iAtkos DVD is in, it starts the instalation prompt, as if OS X wasn't installed

If Mac's partition is active, and the iAtkos DVD isn't in, i get a "NO OPERATING SYSTEM" error

If Mac's partition is active, and the iAtkos DVD is in, it enters OS X

It seems it doen't have a smooth solution, and I'm definitly not gonna erase the Vista partition. If there's a way, I wouldn't like to erase the Mac partition either, but I will if I have to.
