superfront
I have a problem with XBMC Player (Plex also). On my Hackintosh when i play 1081p movie i get pretty huge frame dropping. When i boot to Vista and play it also via XBMC all is perfect. In the XBMC info screen in Vista i get 60-80% CPU Load while playing the movie and in osx I get around 160%. Istats is howing me that Core1 is mostly loaded while 3other cores are used around 15% Could it be that my 8800GT is performing slower under osx than in vista or something else is the problem? My spec: CPU Q9300 Quad 2,5GHz NVIDIA 8800 GT(enabled through EFI strings, QE/CI Works) GA P35-DSP MB aLC889a Audio OSX:10.5.8 Vista x/64 Any tips/recommendations that I should check? Synaesthesia
Well Windows can use the graphics card to accelerate video playback, but OS X can not. Still, with your Quad Core you should not experience any dropped frames in HD. All I can suggest is try other players! Plex (Similar to XBMC) VLC MPlayer Quicktime with Perian Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181602-xbmc-frame-dropping/#findComment-1235397 Share on other sites
superfront
tried, plex acts the same, while VLC and Mplayer are signifficantly slower. I can't pinpoint the problem, is it GPU or CPU topic.
