angryundead
Here's my story: I have a Dell Latitude E6500 with Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, and Nvidia Quadro 160M. I've had a working copy of iDeneb 10.5.5 but no soud, no wifi, and only basic VESA support for the video card. I had gotten that updated to 10.5.6 and everything was... decent. I found this: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Latitude_E6500 and said "Sweet!". However after trying both iAtkos v7 and XxX 10.5.6 I get... nothing. I find this surprising because my machine matches the machine in the description perfectly. I should get the same results. I feel like something must have been left out of the Wiki or that I'm not doing something properly. I set up iAtkos v7 by doing the following: Adding Broadcom wireless drivers Adding Intel Gigabet Ethernet Switching to Chameleon v1 instead of v2 This leads to the gray "no" symbol over the apple boot screen. I've tried this with no customization (just switching bootloaders) as well with the same results. I set up XxX 10.5.6 by doing the following: Adding Broadcom wireless drivers Adding Intel Gigabet Ethernet Adding NVInject 512m (Just like it says in the Wiki. Notice: it didn't say "NVInjectGo"). Adding ICHX family of chipsets. There was no direct ICH9 option. The install description says this should work for ICH9 This leads to the gray "please reboot your mac" screen. Rebooting, of course, does nothing but the same thing. If anyone out there has managed to do this and to get the NVidia drivers working properly (and sound/wireless) I would really appreciate input on what settings they used and what distro they did it with. Thanks in advance for your help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181419-dell-latitude-e6500-installation/ Share on other sites
