sticksbs
Hi guys, Here's the config: Mobo: Gigabyte P45-UD3LR Video Card: Asus 9800GT HD: Raid 10 (2x500GB), non raid (1x500GB) What i'm trying to do is install Windows 7 on Raid, and OSX on the non-raid. When i set the bios to Raid and install windows 7 that works fine, but then i can't install OSX even on the non-raid drive, when i set the bios to AHCI and install OSX to non raid drive then works fine (i've just been testing with iatkos v7). I just can't find a way to get win 7 on the raid, and osx on the non-raid all working together. Any suggestions, or is it just not possible? Thanks in advance. vilpostus
Buy yourself a RAID controller (supported by OSX http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...c=94679&hl= ) and use it as RAID. I suppose you have a software RAID. Not the best option. That works for me. I suppose you have a software RAID. Not the best option. That works for me. yep it is a software raid using the mobo but setup so that the 3rd drive is not on a raid -- I was hoping that in that case it would properly run as ahci... But I guess just the fact that it says raid in the bios Is a no go.. I did make some progress but it's not a solution I like. I was able to boot into osx by setting the drvies in the bios as ahci, when I wanted to boot windows I'd set the drives to raid, in both caes I could use the camelon menu to choose the os (although in each scenario only one is a valid option -- also I'm worried doing that I'll end up corrupting the win7 install if I end up accessing the drives when they aren't operating in raid) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181172-raid-3rd-non-raid-drive-multiboot-help-required/#findComment-1232937 Share on other sites

gosnis
Hi sticksbs, I was wondering if you ever found a suitable solution, as I am also in the same predicament! I currently have Raid 1 on 2x TB drives containing WinXP. I would like to install OSX on a third drive (or possible a second Raid array), without disrupting my WinXP Raid functionally when I boot it. All input will be greatly received. Many thanks, T.
