jjbbooyy
Hello to all; this is my first post on this site, and on osx86 in general actually. I knew about hackintoshes for a while, but just started looking into it last week, and now have been tinkering with it for the last 4 days at the expense of some productivity! Thanks in advance to the community, and I kind of know what I'm doing but am still new to all of this so forgive me if I forget to mention anything. First my specs: Modified Dell Dimension 9100 2.8 GHz Pentium D 3 gigs ram Geforce 7600GT 512mb, PCI-e iDeneb v1.6, dual booting with Vista AnV kernel (stage xnu worked before but is not in the current release, voodoo/vanilla puts bootloader into restart cycle) Thanks to said tinkering I installed successfully, and just about everything works - my question deals with hardware acceleration. After many attempts and reboots I've concluded NVInject is the best choice for my card. I have tried others including Kush and Natit but they all leave me with a black screen when starting up, sometimes with a working cursor, sometimes without, but stuck there. NVInject works with my system, even though it recognizes half of the memory, but CE/QI are off. I'm thinking this is important in my case, as I would like to use Leopard for Adobe CS editing and some iphone development. I'm assuming also that's why general GUI animations are fine but a bit choppy, and youtube video playback is barely watchable at normal quality. I've been attempting a number of fixes involving natit since that seems to work for others but to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone can kindly point me in the direction for things I can do to get the full hardware acceleration working within NVInject, short of flashing anything. I've removed all of the NVxxx and Geforce kexts, added them in, kept the main 3 (geforce, nvdare, nvd40) and added my device ID, but none of that seems to do anything. Thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/181155-dell-dimension-9100-geforce-7600-performance-issue/ Share on other sites
