help cant get past 1st base

Hi all

 

ive always been a pc guy but im willign to try mac on 86x. im having some diffulcties and need some help.

 

i have a K9N platinum with 5600 AMD dual core chip

 

Nvidia Nforce 570 chipset, i have 4 gig of ram , 8600gt card and 3 sata 2 drives , install drive is fresh 500Gig drive.

 

i cant get past the install start - i iso 'ed the 10.5.5 version and it starts up after boot with this error

 

systemconfig file com.apple.boot.S/library/preferences/systemconfig/com.apple.boot.plist not found

then later it tries to load and get this error and sits at prompt

 

Controller or Device error

block 4161488 sector 64

 

 

id apprecite any help and ideas , very keen to get this runnign based on what ive seen i get the best of both worlds with added perfomance
