drew22mader Posted August 21, 2009 Share Posted August 21, 2009 Hey guys, been a member here for awhile but don't post a ton. Got a few questions about my install. I originally had Windows XP and OS X installed on the same hard drive and dual booting. Made the switch to Vista, not really sure why, but lost my dual boot. I've tried to get it back but no luck. I tried the EasyBCD and that screwed my computer up worse than ever. And had to do a fresh install of Windows Vista. Now i have Windows 7, and i'm seriously losing my mind with Windows. I have a 250gb hdd with Windows 7 on it right now, and a 1tb backup hdd I save all my stuff to. I want to just take out my old 250gb and insert a brand new 1tb hard drive in it's place and install OS X back on to it. I have the iatkos_4i.iso that I used before and had some help from a guy on irc getting everything patched and installed. My question, if I insert the new HDD, and install OS X back onto it, is it easier to just do a clean install of it without needing to dual boot and such, and say if down the road, i need to use Windows, which I hate to say, can i just plug the old Windows hdd in and boot from it? What version of OS X do you guys recommend for a new clean install of only OS X? Here are my specs on my computer i'm currently running. drew22mader Posted August 21, 2009 Author Share Posted August 21, 2009 My new 1tb hard drive just came in, and I downloaded iAtkos v7 last night just in case someone tells me it's an easier install than v4. Anyone have an idea on my previous post? I'm looking to finish this project up.
