Hi InsanelyMacs

I am new to Mac but wanted to try by installing IDeneb 10.5.5 in to my PC. managed to install and boot up properly. I also get the OSX boot screen. But when VGA card begins to fire up i loose the VGA Signal to the monitor and monitor says "No Signal".

I have following System in my PC.

Intel Core2Duo 2.53 GHz CPU

FoxConn G31MX-K Motherboard with Intel ICH7 Chipset

2GB Ram (irrelevant in this case )

Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT 512MB VGA card

( I chose 512 mb driver option in VGA section of OSX customizations )

2 Hard Drives (irrelavent because OSX boots up properly )

Again the problem i have after proper IDeneb 10.5.5 installation and boot up , i loose the Video/VGA signal from VGA card to the monitor after OSX boot screen appears. ( i feel this is the problem with OSX's vga driver for my card )

How do i fix this ? Please somebody help me .

danushka: ..great.. I have the same problem.

I'm using iDeneb 10.5.7 and on the first boot everything went perfect: Leo started normally, i could configure the network, the video resolution and i managed to install a couple of apps (adium, textwrangler.. nothing too serious).

During the first reboot, though, the "no signal" problem appeared and now it happens every time. I can booot using the safe boot mode but then i don't have ethernet connection (is it normal? i'm not sure).

My pc specs are in my signature.. as for the drivers i used the ATI 4850 driver that comes in the iDeneb dvd, with the specific mouse lag fix (i tried once without that fix but then the screen flickers every time i move the mouse).

I tried to search for an answer in this forum but I couldn't find a topic which addresses this specific problem :)

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hey danushka.. i'm not sure but it seems that i found a workaround for this problem: my video card has 2 DVI outputs.. i tried to connect my first (and only) monitor to the other output, the secondary one, and i got signal again. I had to reconfigure resolution and refresh rate but now this problem is gone.

See if it works also for you.. i know that's not a proper solution, just a workaround, but it works quite well actually.

Bye!

hi David ,

My VGA Card has only one DVI port and one analogue VGA port (25 pin).

since my monitor has analogue VGA cable , its connected to analogue VGA signal (25 pin).

so i regret to inform that i cannot try your workaround on my system.

cheers
