I have multiboot 64bit OS on the same harddisk, same mobo and same bios and same 4GB RAM

  • Leopard 10.5.8 displays 4GB RAM
  • Tiger 10.4.11 displays 4GB RAM
  • Ubuntu 9.04 64bit displays 4GB RAM
  • Vista SP2 64bit displays 4GB RAM
  • Windows7 Build7600 RTM 64bit displays 4GB (2.99GB Usable) -Why?
  • XP Professional 64bit Edition SP2 displays 2.99GB - Why?

I already tried reset BIOS by pulled out the rtc battery for 1/2 hour and run msconfig>boot.ini>advanced option>MAx/MEM unchecked but with no success

it's a limitation of your motherboard. the fact that other oses show you 4Gb is just what you got installed. Check my sig. I got 4Gb installed and OSX happily reports 4Gb. Windows 7 reports 4Gb but only 3.3 can be used. I go into my BIOS and I see that indeed I have 4Gb installed but only 3.3 Gb can be used. I have an Intel Gma950 onboard graphics card that uses some portion of the 4Gb. There may be other hardware that uses more of that. Windows 7 is just honest with you. It's a known problem. Some people have luck by disabling a "memory remap" function in the BIOS that will allow the OS access to all of the memory. Check your BIOS as well.

but again, the most reasonable case is that Windows 7 and Vista after SP1 are honest and do not just report the memory that is installed. Check your Vista SP2 under system tools and open System Information. Your memory is reported correctly with less than 4Gb there.

In fact if you install 8Gb onto your motherboard, and you have a 32bit OS installed, they will happily report 8Gb, even though they can't physically address beyond 4Gb.

Hi, I am a PC and I am honest...

It's a combination of chipset/motherboard limitation and the OSes that report you 4Gb are just plain fooling you. It surely makes you feel better, but it's not going to help :P
