geek3
I have a HP Dc5800, it's almost completely working. The Video card (Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT 1GB ram PCIE from Sparkle) won't QE or CI The Audio Card (Intergrated Sound Max ADI Card) isn't working. I won't to use this as a second FCP edit computer would apperciate any help. also when I put in my FCS disk 1 and try to install it says FCS recommends 64mb VRAM but you only have 0MB VRAM. but I have 1GB video card. I did it with the EFI boot trick and installing Nvdia aqua drivers (I think that what there called) I would apperciate any help. Thanks. Hi geek3, I have a similar setup with a 9800GT card and Soundmax 1986A, but I'm using an Asus P5-VD2-VM board and both are working fine. First of all I would advise trying the following: 1) Download the Dell XPS Boot132 iso disk from this thread > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...aded&start= and try to boot with that. This should solve your initial 0MB VRAM issue and allow you to work with your setup. 2) Grab your soundcard's vendor and device keys from Windows (if possible). Follow these guides > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36764 (read the appendix here >http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18642) as you will need the keys should the following not work. 3) To add sound, get the ALC883.pkg.zip and HDA.zip files mentioned here > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=157096 Then go into Terminal and delete AppleAC97Audio.kext and AppleAzaliaAudio.kext: cd /System/Library/Extensions sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext Unzip HDA.zip and ALC883.zip onto your desktop. Drag AppleHDA.kext into your /System/Library/Extensions folder onto your OSX86 Mac HD, then run/double-click the ALC883 package installer to load the driver. In Terminal type: sudo diskutil repairpermissions / sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.mkext sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache reboot You should have sound at this point! 4) To get graphics, install Aquamac's Nvidia 9 series MacbookPro drivers and install them > http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t131914.html Then install NVInstaller .52.pkg > http://scottdangel.com/blog/?page_id=20 That should do it!
