iATKOS 7 install dvd kernel panic. Installation worked fine 1st attempt

I am having a strange problem, I was running iAtkos v5 fine for some time, decided to upgrade to v7. put install dvd in booted fine, went through install (did upgrade), booted up as 10.5.7 fine, but I lost trackpad and video and sound. Decided to wipe install (formatted partition) and do a fresh install but now I get a kernel panic when I try to boot from the dvd into the installation, Itried different kernel options (mach_97, toh) and other options listed in the mickey mouse guide but to no avail. I am thinking it could be a dsdt problem maybe? I am stumped it seems so strange that it would work fine the first time but after an install it will not work. Any insight would be much appreciated!
