I installed iAtkos v7 on my EP35-DS3L with AHCI enabled, and my drives are all appearing as externals in OS X, which I think is hindering my performance, and also making it impossible for me to boot into XP without disabling AHCI. Any suggestions?

Note: When AHCI is disabled, the OS will not load.

There are several tutorials around that will guide you through the steps to enable AHCI mode on XP. Google.

To fix the drive icons you can use the brand new orange icon fix by theking which is available over at the ProjectOSX forums, or you can use the fix that comes with the Chameleon 2.0 bootloader (download the binary package).

Those will just fix the icons though, your drives will still be registered as external. There shouldn't be a performance hit because of that though, I've got full speed here, you can check your transfer speeds with XBench, then compare with something like HDTune in Windows.

If your drives are slow it's because of something else.
