Speedy2k42
Hi everyone, I have done a whole lot of searching here and on google for the past hour -- I swear! I'm installing Kalyway 10.5.2 on my Dell Inspiron E1405, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, SSE2 and SSE3 capable. I created a 20 GB FAT32 "Logical" Partition with Partition Magic. My laptop has 1 GB DDR2 RAM. I was first using InfraRecorder to burn the ISO image and I kept getting EBIOS errors, so I switched from DVD-RW to DVD-R and switched to Nero and burned it at 2.4x -- no more EBIOS errors. So...everything works to the tee, except when I get about 1/3 of the way through the OS X installation, I get a message saying "Installation failed -- the installer could not validate the contents of the 'Essentials' package." So far I haven't seen a definitive answer or possible solution anywhere. Two questions: 1)First and foremost, I'm not exactly sure how to reconfigure things so that I can boot up into Windows in the meantime. 2)Of course I would love any suggestions on how to actually "validate the essentials package" Thank you very much! herpaderpa
I had the same issue as you. I burned the .ISO and stuck it in, and about at 30% it just hung up with the error. You have a bad iso. Thats what happened to me. Re-download from another location and another copy of Kalyway 10.5.2 OS X. Thats what I did and it was fixed, now I'm running Leopard Hope this helps. herpaderpa
Happened to me earlier today but I have my OS on 2 seperate HDDs. I recommend you google search the problem since I don't know what to do. And once it's resolved, install Acronis Disk Director and take an image of your Windows IMMEDIATELY. Then start from scratch, once it's done on the 2nd partition just re-install windows and use acronis to re-image. Hope this helps!
